“I started my ‘Dream Bear’ painting by applying thick texture with a huge palette knife,” K. Paulette says. “Then I stained that with my Creek Washes which consist of acrylic ink and water that I collect each morning from Laurel Creek in my backyard. Next I used a brush to apply thicker paint and then scratched and smeared the wet paint with my fingers to get that warm emotion in there. When I finished I looked at the painting and it turned out to be the bear that I had once seen in a dream.”
