Family Time – abstract art bear painting on canvas

The mama bear adult is black, blue, and purple in this animal art. The bear cubs are brown and red.  The background is yellow and brown.  This contemporary wildlife art has elements of Expressionism, Cubism, and bear artist Kent Paulette’s own organic style.

This is the first painting that K. Paulette used creek water to add to the acrylic paint instead of tap water. He went to his favorite place in his backyard at Laurel Creek to gather the water. This helped him to connect with nature and it inspired this animal painting of three bears.  One is a mama black bear and the other are two bear cubs.

Paulette describes his process for this modern bear art, “I’m learning so much on every painting now. Took an idea from the last one, expanded that idea into this painting. Gonna take ideas from this painting and expand them into the next one.”
